Owning the largest parcel (6 ha) of Clos Vougeot and the only producer vinifying and maturing its wines within the Clos, Château de la Tour is the custodian of the Clos Vougeot tradition. Always vinified unstemmed, its wines are powerful (certified organic from the 2021 vintage), structured and long-lasting.
Rated two stars in the Revue du Vin de France annual guide.
Vinous (January 2025): 92-94/100 “The 2023 Clos Vougeot Vieilles vignes Grand Cru has a plush nose with red cherries, kirsch, marmalade and incense aromas that have a slightly Mediterannean personality-finely delineated and more open-knit than the Cuvée Classique. The palate is well structured with finely chiseled tannins. It is a little savory in style with persistent peppery finish. The 2023 is excellent, although the 2022 will probably have the "legs" for long-term cellaring.”
