Quarin : 91/100 « Touche de fruits noirs et de vanille. Délicat à l'attaque, raffiné au milieu, avec un toucher soyeux, le vin se développe parfumé. Il présente un déroulé plus tempéré que parfois qui favorise une perception plus allongée que je préfère. Jolie longueur sans boisé, sans marquer le tannin. »
Galloni : 92-94/100 « The 2023 Phélan Ségur is a powerful, brooding wine. Black cherry, plum, gravel, incense, licorice, dried herbs, lavender and mocha infuse the 2023 with striking complexity. Persistent saline notes lend energy, dimension and shape. The Cabernet Sauvignon really screams with intensity here. »
Martin : 92-94/100 « The palate is medium-bodied with fine-boned tannins. This is very well balanced, though not a Phélan Ségur laden with huge concentration [...]. There is just a touch of balsamic that perks up the finish, while graphite notes join the chorus line toward the close. Quite an "involving" wine in the cards, this will be fascinating to revisit once in bottle. »

Quarin : 95/100 « C'est la révélation du millésime dans le Médoc. [...]  Nez très aromatique, fin, fruité et subtil. Délicat à l'attaque, délicieux au milieu, avec un toucher fin et une texture qui prend du gras au fil des secondes, le vin monte et s'élève aromatiquement vers une finale juteuse, complexe et même profonde. Equilibre sans faille. »
Galloni : 91-93/100 « The 2023 Branaire-Ducru offers up pretty notes of crushed red/purplish berry fruit, lavender, spice and mint. At this stage, the 2023 comes across as a bit light, even within the context of this property, where the wines are always laid back relative to neighboring estates. Perhaps the 2023 will flesh out over time. »
Martin : 92-94/100 «  Delicate floral scents permeate the predominant red fruit, never bursting from the glass but unfurling with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly edgy tannins that impart tension, veering slightly more to black fruit on the mid-palate. This is certainly one of the most elegant Branaire-Ducru vintages to date, but it has more weight on the finish. »

Minutieux en entrée de bouche et de suite très savoureux, le vin se développe avec de la classe dans le toucher, élancé par 80 % de cabernet sauvignon. Délicatement charnu, savoureux, il s'achève long et séveux sur une touche de fleurs dans la persistance. C'est très bon. »
Galloni : 95-98/100 « The 2023 Pichon-Longueville Comtesse de Lalande marries elegance, power and sophistication. Soft, ripe tannins wrap around a core of inky dark fruit, licorice, spice, pencil shavings, lavender and menthol. Bright acids pull it all together on the finish. In 2023, Pichon Comtesse blends Merlot picked early for freshness and Cabernets picked later for tannin ripeness and flavor complexity. Readers will have to be patient, but the 2023 holds considerable promise for those who can wait. »
Martin : 96-98/100 « The 2023 has a quintessential Comtesse bouquet, displaying pure and expressive black fruit laced with violet and graphite, delivered with impressive delineation. The palate is very refined on the entry. This is armed with beguiling symmetry—poised yet intense on the finish. It doesn’t exert huge grip because it knows it doesn't need to, and it fans out gloriously. Outstanding. »

Galloni : 92-94/100 « The 2023 Réserve de la Comtesse is fabulous. This is the first vintage in which Cabernet Sauvignon drives the blend, the result of extensive replanting over the years and vines that are now old enough to be used here. Among other things, that means the Réserve is more closely aligned with the Grand Vin in style, starting in the vineyard. Potent and explosive, the 2023 offers up a heady mélange of dark fruit, leather, spice, grilled herbs and lavender. It's a stellar wine in every way. »
Martin : 90-92/100 « The 2023 Réserve de la Comtesse has a lovely bouquet, discrete initially, then opening with cassis and light violet fruit. It never shouts too loudly at this early stage. The palate is medium-bodied with crisp tannins on the entry. There's also a stronger graphite element than I have noticed in recent vintages, due to the higher percentage of Cabernet Sauvignon (60%). This is a classically styled Réserve. »

Rich and sumptuous in the glass, the 2023 offers up a heady mix of blue/black fruit, gravel, chocolate, scorched earth, lavender and liquified rocks. Feytit-Clinet is often a rich, structured Pomerol, but in 2023, the tannins are totally woven into the wine's fabric, making for a wine that marries power with finesse. Clean mineral notes extend the finish effortlessly. »
Martin : 92-94/100 « The 2023 Feytit-Clinet has a delightful bouquet that is subtle at first but coheres nicely, beautifully defined with black cherries, violets and truffle scents. The palate is medium-bodied with a deft touch of dark chocolate on the entry. It's well-structured and firm in the mouth, but there is elegance here and a tender, persistent finish. »

La matière prend possession de la bouche sans insistance mais en déployant une élégante plénitude. La saveur s’exprime avec une grande clarté, le fruit possède de la fraîcheur et de l’intensité, même si la finale n’est pas des plus persistantes. »

Galloni : 90-92/100 « The 2023 Latour-Martillac is a very promising wine. Dark red-toned fruit, gravel, incense and pressed rose petal lend notable complexity. What impresses me most about the 2023 is the quality of the tannin, something that has been penalizing at times in the past. There's a good bit of structure, but it is nicely integrated. Sweet floral and spice notes lift the finish. Terrific. Tasted two times. »
Martin : 88-90/100 « The 2023 Latour-Martillac has a more straightforward, less nuanced bouquet than some of its peers at the moment. It does not quite engage the senses as I would have hoped. The palate is medium-bodied with quite assertive tannins matched by a crisp acidity thread, though again, the finish feels a little hard and muscular. I will be prudent with my score for now. »

Galloni : 89-91/100 « The 2023 Latour-Martillac Blanc is a tense, steel dry white. Lemon peel, chalk, white pepper, sage, mint and crushed rocks lend brightness and energy. I like the vibrancy here, but I just wish there was a bit more mid-palate creaminess. At this stage, the Blanc is a bit austere. Tasted two times. »

Galloni : 92-94/100 « The 2023 Haut-Bergey is bold and dynamic from the very first taste. Strong floral and savory accents lend a distinctive flair to this super-expressive Pessac-Léognan. The strong presence of Cabernet Franc comes through loud and clear. There's terrific purity to the fruit and fine balance to wrap it all together. Rose petal, sage, mint and crushed red berry fruit linger. It's one of the most intriguing wines of the year. Aging is in amphora, foudre, cement egg and tank. Haut- Bergey is one of the major sleepers of 2023. Tasted three times. »
Martin : 78-81/100 « The 2023 Haut-Bergey shows improvement on the nose compared to previous years insofar that there are no signs of greenness. Maybe it just lacks a bit of energy and presence. So far, so acceptable. Then, the wheels come off with a bitter, vegetal mid-palate that evidences fruit that failed to reach full ripeness. »

Galloni : 95-97/100 « The 2023 Clos Saint-Julien is an exciting, visceral Saint-Émilion. Deep, plush and beautifully layered, the 2023 saturates the palate with inky dark fruit. Hints of lavender, mocha, licorice and spice develop with some air, adding layers of dimension. What a beautifully complete and riveting wine this is. »

Galloni : 94-96/100 « The 2023 Petit Gravet Aîné is a stunner. Inky, silky and exceptionally polished, the 2023 dazzles from start to finish. Raspberry jam, blood orange, spice, mint and violet caress the palate. More than anything else, I am so impressed with the wine's soft texture and refined personality. »

Très coloré, le vin offre un nez intense, subtil, fin, tout à la fois très mûr et frais. Bouche tout en caresse, qui masque au départ la puissance, puis le vin prend du goût et évolue vers une finale qui s'élève sans perdre de gras, tout en gardant des tannins très enveloppés et fin. Grande longueur. Beaucoup de personnalité. »
Galloni : 93-95/100 « The 2023 Poesia is gorgeous. Bright acids and vibrant saline notes immediately confer energy. Crushed rocks, rose petal, mint, blood orange and pomegranate all run through this focused Saint-Émilion. This is a classic wine from the Saint-Étienne-de-Lisse sector, where acids remain very brisk. I admire the sculpted, nuanced style. »
Martin : 92-94/100 « It has a plush bouquet with macerated black cherries, cassis and a touch of spice, becoming more floral with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with firm backbone. It's grippy in the mouth, with good density and countervailing acidity, leading to a sinewy finish that will require three or four years to soften. This constitutes an assertive Poesia; there's a bit of horsepower here, and barrel-maturation should just tame the tannins. »

Martin : 91-93/100 « This has an intense, attention-grabbing bouquet with layers of black plum and wild strawberry fruit, cohering with aeration after five minutes. The palate is medium-bodied with quite plush tannins, plenty of grip in the mouth. A finish with layers of blackcurrant and blueberry fruit with a liberal sprinkling of black pepper complete a fine and quite Rubenesque Saint-Émilion. »

Finement pulpeux en entrée de bouche, avec de la classe dans le toucher, ce vin au déroulé subtil glisse sur la langue, parfume et conserve tout le long sa pulpe délicate. Il s'achève incrachable et profond, avec un retour de la violette dans la persistance. A ce stade, un look de Lafite. »

Martin : 93-95/100 « The 2023 Grand Puy Lacoste  has a classic "GPL" bouquet with blackberry, pencil box and light marine scents, obviously not as powerful as the previous vintage, yet in typical style, beautifully defined and focused. Just a touch of cracked black pepper surfaces with aeration. [...] There's an impressive linearity to this wine, and thus I suspect it will require less bottle-age compared to recent vintages. »

Galloni : 88-90/100 « The 2023 Lacoste-Borie is a soft, supple second wine to drink on release, while its fruity, open-knit personality is on display. Succulent red cherry, spice and rose petal are nicely pushed forward. Lovely aromatics from the Franc linger. »
Martin : 88-90/100 « It bursts with red fruit on the nose—raspberry and wild strawberry—forward and quite generous in keeping with the vintage. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly grainy tannins on the entry. Moderately deep, it tapers slightly toward the graphite-infused finish. This Deuxième Vin has an easy-drinking sensibility and should be broached over the next decade. »

Saveurs de fruits rouges, pointe d'orange confite. Il s'achève gras, sur une très bonne couverture tannique. C'est long, savoureux et très bon. »
Martin : 90-92/100 « The 2023 Fonroque has a tad more opulence on the nose compared to some of its peers, though it might have shaved away some of its definition in the process. The palate is medium-bodied with a little chewiness on the entry. Crisp toward the finish, with mainly red fruit laced with graphite and crushed stone, this Saint-Émilion improves as it goes on. I will give it the benefit of the doubt and hope that the aromatics gain a little more clarity. »

The palate is medium-bodied with comparatively light tannins. This has a pinch of black pepper toward the finish-quite a cerebral Pomerol that will drink young, yet it has the substance to age. »

Galloni : 93-96/100 « The 2023 Cantenac Brown is concentrated, ample and generous right out of the gate. Blackberry, incense, new leather, tobacco, menthol and chocolate are all amplified to the maximum. As is often the case, Cantenac Brown is one of the more extroverted wines in Margaux. It's a style that works so well. Readers will have to be patient, as the 2023 needs time to shed some of its baby fat. »
Martin : 91-93/100 « The 2023 Cantenac Brown [...] is quite forward and more fruit-driven that expected. The palate is medium-bodied with rounded, very pliant tannins. It's impressively weighty and notably focused, though maybe not quite delivering the complexity and terroir expression on the finish as I found with the previous vintage. »
