Champagne PHILIPPONNAT Clos des Goisses Extra-Brut 2014 bottle 75cl

bottle 75cl: 259,00 € incl. VATbottle 75cl

With the appointment of Charles Philipponnat as Director in 2000, this family business has continued to progress and is now at the top of the Champagne region. Just reward for the efforts made, the estate has been awarded a 3-star rating in the Revue du Vin de France guide.

With plot selections, an increased percentage of Pinot Noir and vinification partly in barrel, the whole range is remarkable: from the magnificent 'petite' Cuvée Royale Réserve Non Dosé (rated 16.5/20 by the Revue du Vin de France) or the Grande Cuvée 1522 from the historic Grand Cru parcels in Aÿ, to the famous Clos des Goisses, a single vineyard of 5.5 ha and the flagship of the company.

All the cuvées are either non dosed (0 g/l) or extra-brut (4 g/l).

Company rated three stars in the Revue du Vin de France's annual guide.

Cuvée "Clos des Goisses 2014" in the reviews :

La Revue du Vin de France (Décember 2024) : 95/100 « The blend of Pinot Noir (71%) and Chardonnay from this legendary clos offers a concentration of flavours and exceptional vinosity in 2014, all enhanced by a fine patina of wood. »

Vinous (A. Galloni - March 2024): 93/100 “The 2014 Extra-Brut Clos des Goisses is aromatic, soft-spoken and quiet in demeanor. this is an especially floral, delicate Goisses with lovely floral top notes and decidedly mid-weight structure. The 2014 remains noticeably fresh and vibrant, but I just it a bit light on the mid-palate. Dosage is 4.25 grams per liter."

The “Royale Réserve non dosé” cuvée in the press:

La Revue du Vin de France (Guide 2025): 92/100 Coup de ♥ “As a brut, Royale Réserve has this greediness, while remaining stretched and salivating. A very high-flying introduction that demonstrates all the work done by the house. We also salute, in an inflationary context, a pricing policy that remains very reasonable.”

Vinous (A. Galloni - March 2024): 90/100 “The NV Royale Réserve Non Dosé is terrific. Bit offers a fine interplay of citrus and floral notes, but with a bit more poise and better balance than the straight Réserve. I especially admire its energy and persistence. This is a tasty non-dosé Champagne that hits all the right notes in style."

The “Blanc de noirs”2016 vintage in the press:

La Revue du Vin de France (December 2022): 94/100 “This 2016 wonderfully illustrates the vinosity and refinement that pinot noir can take on. A character playing between subtle oxidation and fruit brightness. The irresistibly creamy bubbles take it to a depth full of flavor.”

The “Blanc de noirs”2018 vintage in the press:

La Revue du Vin de France (Guide 2025): 92/100 “The extra-brut blanc de noirs, on a 2018 base, shows itself well-balanced, with the comfortable texture of this warm year, a lovely acidulous aroma and a palate that remains slender.”

Vinous (A. Galloni - March 2024): 91/100 “The 2018 Extra-Brut Blanc de Noirs is an understated wine, as so many Champagnes are in 2018. This is an especially brisk, floral style of Blanc de Noirs, the result of a choice of villages (Avenay-Val-d'Or, Mareuil, Mailly, Vertus? Ecueil), The decision to partially block the malolactic fermentation and dosage that is on the low side. Grapefruit, white flowers, mint, chalk and dried herbs are all finelly cut. Dosage is 4.25 grams per liter."
